You're Texting With Someone You Know is Driving?

Direct Link to Post

Hello Beeler Bloggers,
I am working on a few really provocative blog posts.  This one is provocative but is a repost of something that is really timely.

Have you ever been in a text conversation  with another person whom you know to be  driving?

You could end up in court.  Click this link to 11Alive news for details http://www.11alive.com/rss/rss_story.aspx?storyid=140992

If you read the article closely you will see the very tough dilemma that this texting partner is in.  Have you considered this: could the victim's estate sue him  for punitive negligence because he had knowledge that his partner was texting and driving but continued the texting conversation anyway?

Hmm, what difficult positions we find our selves in.  If he were a client of Beeler Insurance Agency we would have recommend a personal liability umbrella policy that could provide insurance coverage for this type of suit up to $5 million.  Do you have an insurance agent that is watching out for you or is 15 minutes helping you save save 15% with the GECKO.
That 15 minutes could cost this client dearly.  Let's hope not.
Until next time,
Chris Beeler

Where The Rubber Meets The Road

Direct Link to Post

Hello Beeler Bloggers,
I hope you enjoyed a positively memorable Christmas and are now looking forward to the opportunities that a New Year will bring.

I am posting today about one agency customer whose Christmas was interrupted by a house fire.  Daniel lives in
Cedartown and on Christmas Eve-Eve at about 7pm was shopping with his wife and 8 month old baby girl.  His cell phone rang and the local 911 operator advised him that the Cedartown Fire Department (CFD) was dispatched to and battling a blaze at his home.

He says my first thought was "oh my God!"  He and his young family rushed to his home.  After CFD said it was safe to enter their home they managed to grab a change of clothes & stayed at the local Holiday Inn for the night.

Christmas Eve morning at 8:30am Daniel contacted me.  At first he was apologetic but once I learned of his situation I advised him that he had nothing to be apologetic for.  I knew this was an opportunity for our agency to fulfill the promise we make to our clients every single business day.  Daniel said to me "Chris, I don't even know who my insurance company is but I know I can count on you."

We met 20 minutes later at my office, pulled up his GA Replacement HO3 with our top rated carrier
Main Street America Group.  I spent a moment consoling his young wife and child and committed to them that Beeler Insurance Agency has the right partners in place to get their lives back to normal again!

I contacted
Serv-Pro of Polk County at 9:30am on Christmas Eve and they were on the scene drying the water and beginning clean up that afternoon by 2:30pm.

I met with Daniel today (the day after Christmas) and this was what he had to say about this experience so far:

I'll keep all you Beeler Bloggers posted with photos and videos as we move through the repair process for Daniel.

Before I conclude I must ask you:
Do you have an agent you can depend on?
Do you know your agent has placed your policy with the best coverage's available?
If you don't have a policy with the best available coverage, why not?
Does your agent have contractors that can be at your home after a fire within 4 hours of being notified?

This is the kind of service that Beeler Insurance offers its customers.  If you can't confidently answer yes to the questions above give Beeler Insurance a try today. Get an online quote right now at

Till next time,

Security Tips To Remember

Direct Link to Post

Hello Beeler Bloggers,
Today is Christmas Eve-Eve and we'll soon turn our attention to shopping, family gatherings, and some much needed time off work.

The shopping part got me to thinking about a list of personal security tips that have been around for some time and deserves to be repeated from time to time.  This list is sort of like an old dog  old but good

1.
Your Elbow is the strongest part of your body.  If you find your self in a situation where you must take physical action use your elbow.

2.
If a robber asks you for your wallet or purse DON'T HAND IT TO HIM; Toss it away from your immediate area.  He's more interested in what's in your wallet or purse than he is in harming you.  Once tossed, run in the other direction.

3.
When parking your car in the store parking lot be mindful of your surroundings.  Never enter your car and sit idle.  Even if your doors are locked this provides a criminal a perfect opportunity to make you their victim.
Park in an area that has security camera's and that is well lit.  Even if you are shopping by yourself ask a fellow shopper that may be exiting the store at the same time as you are to accompany you to your car.

There are numerous other important safety tips that you should observe.  Remember, the holidays are for joyous times with family so don't let it become a nightmare by becoming a victim of a petty crime.

At Beeler Insurance we wish you the very best during this Christmas season.  If you are not satisfied with your current insurance agency give Beeler Insurance a try.
Til next time,
Chris Beeler
