Georgia State Troopers say "No More Warnings"

Direct Link to Post

Sunday marks the end of a 30-day grace period as state troopers begin to write citations instead of warnings for drivers caught violating one of Georgia's two new texting laws.

The two new texting laws went into effect on July 1, but the Georgia State Patrol wanted to give drivers time to learn the new rules and change their habits.

One law bans teens from talking or texting on a cell phone while driving

The other law impacts everyone by making it illegal for anyone to write or read a text or an e-mail or even surf the web on your cell phone if you're behind the wheel.  The law applies if you're stuck in heavy traffic or stopped at a red light.

Troopers admit enforcing the law will be tough.  "Is it impossible? No," said Major Mark McDonough of the Georgia Stat Patrol. "It's going to require the trooper to do some observation in order to develop the reason why he pulls them over."

A citation will cost $150 plus a point on your driving record.

So, be safe while driving by not texting while driving or it could cost you big.

Effectively Serving Clients; Even While On The Road?

Direct Link to Post

Hello Beeler Bloggers,
I submit the latest post to the Beeler Insurance blog while taking in Grandview Point at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

View Beeler Family Summer Vacation Map

Yes this is the view that I actually snapped with my phone just now and beside it is a road map that I created using Google's My Maps.

So, you may be thinking to yourself one of the same questions I get asked almost everyday.  "How much vacation time do you have?", "How can you take that much time off?", "How are you able to do that?", "How can you afford it?"

Well, the answers are: I am still working every day.  My plan is to enjoy 6 weeks on the road and I can do so because my income is not taking a hit.  You see, technology allows me to still effectively serve my clients even while enjoying a great quality of life.  Check out this video to learn more.

Now, several things are absolutely essential to make this happen:
1.  A great staff back at the physical location
Without cooperative staff my journey would not be possible
2.  3G data/internet coverage by Verizon Wireless
There really is a map for that and their map is awesome
3.  Remote Desktop Technology from Microsoft
When I work remotely my laptop screen becomes my desktop
4.  Great clients
It is essential that your clients don't begrudge you enjoying a great quality of life.  My clients definitely don't begrudge and, in fact, are enjoying seeing our posts on Facebook & Twitter to follow & interact with us on our trip.
If you are hesitant to believe that your clients could be happy about your success simply read the most recent review posted the Beeler Insurance Facebook Page

Living and enjoying life is what I am passionate about and I am thankful that technology allows me to effectively serve my clients while doing so.
Till next time,
Chris Beeler

Her Last Call Was From A Cell Phone

Direct Link to Post

Hello Beeler bloggers,
Memorial Day weekend is upon us.  Take so time this weekend to memorialize & remember those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

Also, please take time to exercise extreme caution on the road ways.  This post is about a driver who was talking on a cell phone and didn't see on on-coming motorcycle.  You can see the entire story by
clicking here
Can you see the motorcycle?  Can you see the motorcycle?

How bout now?

The Honda rider was traveling at approximately 85 mph. The VW driver was talking on a cell phone when she pulled out from a side street, apparently not seeing the motorcycle. The riders reaction time was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident. The car had two passengers and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them. The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 20 feet from where the collision took place.

All three involved (two in the car and the bike rider) were
killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was placed at
the Motorcycle Fair by the Police and Road Safety Department.

Please think twice about using your cell while driving.

Until next time,
